Things I Recommend Often
As my first blog post, I figure I will go to an old staple: what are the things that I recommend often? By this I mean, what are my favorite things, tools, items where I feel compelled to tell people about them because I love them so much.
- Kindle (and Library Card)
My kindle is top of my list of products that I find myself recommending to others. If you want to read more, then get a Kindle. If you want to make things even easier, then get a library card. The two things work together so well that I can read 30-50 books a year at minimal cost and effort.
- Panda Planner
I use the Panda Planner to help organize my day during every workday. It's awesome. I've used it for years now, and using it has helped me in my career more than I ever imagined. It's easy to highlight my wins, look at the past, set intentions, etc. As a manager, I am surprised at how few people send weekly reviews or updates, though I have noticed it appears to be a trait of the most successful people that I have met. The Panda Planner makes it so easy to do.
- Zarasa Dry pens
I hate pens that smear. The Zarasa Dry pens are the best at not smearing and not bleeding through the page. It's one of those things you don't notice until it happens, but it never happens with these pens. I love it.
- Habitify (App)
I'm a big believer in the saying "You are what you consistently do" so holding yourself accountable to your habits is one of the easiest ways to see if you are progressing to your goals. I like this habit tracker the best because it has a lifetime subscription option to avoid paying the monthly fee charged by most freemium habit trackerts.
- TickTick
TickTick is my favorite task manager. As far as other task managers go, it doesn't have any big advantages or features that the others don't have. But I prefer it the most. As far as I've noticed, only Todoist has the breadth of features that TickTick has across all the platforms I use, and I prefer TickTick's appearance more. Now using a task manager consistently is another post alltogether.
